It has been a very long five years since I "retired" from gig photography but this tour was just too good to pass up. It's also been well over two years since I was even in a gig environment so it was both exciting and nerve racking going back to something I absolutely adore.
Alkaline Trio have been one of my favourite bands for 21 years and they just never cease to fail me. Taking Back Sunday are a band I have loved for probably just as long. The last time I saw either band was in the much loved and very badly missed o2 ABC, a venue that TBS frontman Adam Lazzara spoke of on Wednesday night - and apparently got punched in the face by an unimpressed gig-goer. I also remember him being passed from the stage, all the way to the back bar then back again.
As much as the Covid pandemic caused havoc with the entertainment / music industry, one thing I noticed was how happy every one up on stage looked. They all seemed to appreciate, love and enjoy every moment on the stage.
Lots and lots of photos of both bands are now up on the photo section of Music Box Unwinds so head over and have a nosey!
