THROWBACK: RED HOT CHILI PEPPERS

I don't think it has totally sunk in that I have been able to photograph Red Hot Chili Peppers but I think what is more unbelievable is that it has been 10 years already!

As most of you know, I'm based outside Glasgow so this one involved a trip down to Sunderland! It was a full mix of emotions as when I arrived, I was told I wasn't on the list which was a punch to the guts... to then be chased down to be told they were looking at the wrong list and found my name on the list of photographers that the band had chosen, so you could imagine my shock and excitement at that...yes there were tears. I was in the media room with people from Rolling Stone, Kerrang!, NME and all major newspapers so I felt a little out my depth but when I had to educate the room on the band, I started to ease up a little. Since it was at a football stadium, the England v Italy Euros game was on, being the only Scottish one in the room I took much delight in the fact Italy put England out of the championship and I wasn't judged on it.

Nothing like hearing the likes of Can't Stop and Scar Tissue live were definitely the top highlights for me.

I'm gutted I will be missing the guys with John Frusciante this week in Glasgow but I will be in Canada seeing my two favourite bands so it makes up for it.

Anyone who is heading off, have a brilliant time, you're in for a treat seeing these guys!
